Why is it called a tour? Because Almost Famous is one of my favourite movies and I always wanted to be a rock star, so this is my chance to go on tour. As part of a band, hanging with people who are playing the same tune. Also because it’s a language I can get behind and one that works for me even if it is not mainstream.

How does it all work? We play online. You’ll get prompts in your inbox and community conversation will be on a private Instagram profile. All the details about how the IG page works will be sent after registration. You will need an Instagram account and it is very easy to sign up. There will also be Zoom calls (minimum once a month). Each season has a theme and in that theme there will be prompts to consider and discuss. There will be a few surprises relating to the themes as well. The IG page is like our tour bus, where we all gather between stops and travel to the next one; the stops being each prompt.

Why on Instagram and not FB? I have a few reasons:

1. I am on a ban list on Facebook. I just came off a 7-day ban and my next will be 30 days and after that permanent deletion.

2. As we shake our tail feathers and practice taking up space, there will be commentary about patriarchy and social injustice that FB really likes to censor. Yes, even in a secret group. I have been banned for saying things about the patriarchy in a secret group and I don’t want that to happen to any of us. On IG, I have said the same things without a single warning and I have had an IG account for years. Even though they are both owned by FB, it seems the rules are different.

3. As we get into reclamation, pleasure, style and taking up space there may be nudity. Nudity is not mandatory but the wild ones owning who they are has resulted in nudity in every tour I have done. That is another “immediate” flag on FB that has less of a chance being flagged on IG.

4. I believe that as you find yourself and begin to remember who you are and what you want, images help. Part of the practical magic of this tour is looking at your life differently and I want to know what you see. That visual capability is one of my favourite features of Instagram. Imagery is available everywhere and I will be encouraging you to seek it out and/or use your own photography.

5. Because energy matters. On IG you can toggle between your account and The Full Bush Tour account. You can log right into The Full Bush tour account if you want. One of the biggest concerns I have been told about engaging is that people don’t want to log into Facebook because it changes their energy and I get that. Instagram is an app that most of us are on (or are thinking about) and it has the same functionality for private spaces, comments and comment replies that a FB group does. There is a place for highlights and it is amazing for video and live content. I love the idea of us being in a place that is all Full Bush and I am really excited about the shift in energy that being off FB will bring.

When is it? September 17, 2020 - August 22, 2021. We soft start on the new moon in September on the 17th and take a few weeks to settle in. On the full moon, we begin our first series of prompts. It ends in celebration on the full moon in August 2021.

Why not a FULL year? I left a few weeks in between this tour and The Full Bush Tour 2021 in the hopes there might be a chance to gather in person, depending on where we are with the pandemic.

Why now in this time? After six months of seeing how COVID-19 has changed our daily schedules, I think we need each other more than ever. This tour has been in production since late 2016 because after each month-long tour I was asked to please stop playing a few cities and do a world tour: discover more things and take our time. This summer the timing felt more right than any other time that I have talked about it so I decided to listen and go with it. I pay attention to signs like that and the feelings around things. I love a moon cycle and September always feels like the beginning of a new year. I have always loved the rhythm of the seasons. It feels very natural to me to begin gathering as we head into fall. All of the prompts fit in perfectly with the seasons, starting with days that get shorter and cooler and ending as there is more light and the heat is back. It’s magic.

Who is welcome? All folks are welcome except cis-het-men. My spaces are inclusive and intersectional. I don’t allow these men in my groups that centre around self loyalty because they change the dynamic and suck up all the space. As I mentioned earlier, the energy of this space matters to me. A lot. Cis-het-men do not matter to me nearly as much as the Bush Kittens’ feelings and safety. I am committed to the Kittens’ comfort and needs first and foremost. The entire world is designed to support cis-het-men so I think they will be fine without access to this tour.

How much is it? There are four ways to join. The initial registration fee is $50.00 and then it is a monthly recurring fee of $39.00 / $69.00 / $99.00 USD. (See the next question for an explanation on those.) First payment is at registration and the next one comes out the October 15, 2020 and the last one is July 15, 2021. When you join you will be asked to make the commitment to stay for the year because a big part of this is the community care aspect. Why all the different price points? I think that the wellness and coaching communities have a tendency to price things in a way that makes it inaccessible to the people that need it most. Black folk, Indigenous folk, single moms, folks with disability/chronic illness, and trans women typically have lower incomes than cis, abled, white women. This disparity is directly due to systemic oppression, patriarchy, ableism, and transphobia. Tiered pricing reflects that disparity. For white women, when we ask, “How can we use our privilege?”, one of the ways is to choose the $69.00 option for yourself or the $99.00 support option as your monthly.

What price point do I choose? Only you can answer that. One of the things I love about my community is that we are committed to social justice, we are anti-capitalist in the ways we can be, and there is a level of trust and honesty that we all abide by. When I say “you know what tier to choose” that goes along with the trust I have for the people I gather with. I trust you will make a conscious choice. It is one of the reasons I don’t have people “apply”. You know what you need and you know what you can afford. I trust that you will choose the tier that is best for you and I don’t require an explanation on that choice. I am not policing the level you choose. That goes against everything this tour represents and does not reflect the community that will gather.

If you are here, you are familiar with my body of work , or have been recommended by someone who is, so you know what I stand for and what I am committed to. One of my commitments is to make this a fabulous experience for you. Money is not an indication of worth or value like society wants us to believe. At every tier, both of us benefit. Remember that The Full Bush Tour is a place that is free of judgment and shame - because the patriarchy loves to judge and shame us - and the tiered pricing is the start of un-programming that.

Is the level of access different at each price? Nope. All price points have the same level of access to everything because that is also anti -capitalist and very important to me.

Are there sponsored seats? I hope so! One thing that I am working on for myself is the word “sponsor”. In full transparency, there is an energy there that is not exactly the one I want but it is a term that is recognizable. On tour we can sort out what that really means when you join at the $99.00 level. Until then, contact me to get your name on the list for seats if/when they become available. It will depend on how many people choose the $99.00 option. I don’t need to know why you need one, I just need to know you want one and I will do my very best.

How much time will I need to devote to this? That is up to you. The essence of the tour is to find your natural self and spent time in the places that encourage and celebrate you. The tour Instagram will be one of those places where you share and support other shares. The monthly Zoom calls will be one of those places as well. I strongly encourage spending some time with these energies. Having said that, part of my wild lives in not being online 24/7 so I will be encouraging you to spend some time offline as well and then ask you to come back and tell us about your life.

I will also not be available 24/7 but I will read and respond to everything posted and I will be live encouraging you and starting conversations. You will have access to me, but not unlimited access because that would go against everything we will be discussing and it is important that I model what I teach. There will be single tasking, and getting back to what fills us and that isn’t always going to be social media. Don’t fret though, I will be fully present and available in the ways you need.

Why is it called The Full Bush Tour? This started back in 2016 when a friend and I were both newly single. We said that we just wanted to be free and were going to move to the Amazon and run wild in the bushes. Wild with full bushes. I posted a screenshot of our text convo and got so many amazing and hilarious comments that I decided that I was going to name the long tour I was planning the “Full Bush Tour” and here we are! LOL. Full bush of all kinds take up space. They defy containment. They need the right conditions to bloom. They are natural. They are wild. They are free. Full bush is metaphorical but go literal if that is your jam. How they grow is synonymous with the work we will do on this tour. It’s the perfect metaphor.

Who is Lola? Ms. Lola Esmeralada Floof is my familiar. She is a senior cat with a thyroid condition and high blood pressure who dances the can-can in floofy pantaloons and likes to scream at me all day. She is a contract assassin with a very private detective agency and I love her. So will you.
